NMELC Files Lawsuit Against Doña Ana County for Open Meeting Violations

LAS CRUCES, N.M. (KFOX14/CBS4) — The New Mexico Environmental Law Center (NMELC) has filed a lawsuit against the Doña Ana County Board of Commissioners, alleging violations of the New Mexico Open Meetings Act during a public hearing about Project Jupiter last September.
The lawsuit claims the board unlawfully closed its meeting on Sept. 19, 2025, without proper notice while discussing Project Jupiter, an artificial data center project in Santa Teresa that has ignited concerns over utility demands. …
