The New Mexico Environment Department (NMED) submits this letter in response to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC)Docket No. 040-08968 titled NuFuels Inc.; Crownpoint Uranium Project In-Situ Recovery (ISR) Facility; License Renewal Application as part of the Federal Register Vol. 91, No. 101 dated May 27, 2026.
This letter reaffirms NMED’s involvement in the permitting for the Church Rock Section 8 ISR Project, which will be developed as part of the larger Crownpoint Uranium Project (CUP) In-Situ Recovery Facility, currently subject to a timely renewal of NRC Source Materials License (SUA-1580). …
