Panel upholds Mount Taylor Mine active status decision

SANTA FE — Mount Taylor Mine will remain in active status, the New Mexico Mining Commission ruled this week.

The Commission handed Amigos Bravos and the Multicultural Alliance for a Safe Environment a 4-3 defeat Monday in their challenge of the state Mining and Minerals Division director’s decision granting Rio Grande Resources’ application for a permit to come off standby.
