El Defensor Chieftain has a January 19 article on the upcoming February 13 status hearing (not a hearing on our Motion for Summary Judgment) in Seventh District Court in Reserve NM regarding the Augustin Plains Ranch appeal of of the State Engineer’s denial of the Ranch’s application to mine 54,000 acre feet (about 17 billion gallons) of groundwater annually. The Law Center filed a Motion for Summary Judgment asking the judge to throw out the Ranch’s appeal and deny the application, but the hearing in February is a conference among the attorneys and the judge.
