On Monday March 23, Governor Lujan Grisham ordered all non-essential businesses, including nonprofits, to close and staff to work from home where possible. The Law Center is considered an “essential” business but staff have been working remotely since March 12. We have limited in-person meetings with clients and members. We will follow any further directives from the Governor’s office.

If you need to reach anyone at the Law Center, you can email them directly, send an email to the Law Center main email (nmelc@nmelc.org), or call the main line (505.989.9022) and use the menu to get the appropriate staff person’s extension. Staff can access voicemails and emails remotely.

The Governor’s office has set up a webpage for people needing assistance with things like childcare, food, and lost jobs: https://www.newmexico.gov/i-need-assistance/. The general help number is: 833-551-0518. The Department of Health has set up a coronavirus Health Hotline: 855-600-3453. You can also stay up to date at the Coronavirus Microsite: cv.nmhealth.org and get information on prevention and treatment protocols from the Centers for Disease Control: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/about/prevention-treatment.html
